A Servant’s Heart

That's what I have been praying for everyday since I've set foot in Costa Rica.  Here I am on a beautiful mountain in the perfect climate, living at a school with instructions to be an English teachers! Sounds ideal right?! But God has a funny way of breaking down expectations. When I have a plan about how I think things should go and it's MY plan (not God's) you better believe He is quick to correct me.

My time in Costa Rica is turning out to be quite different than what my plans were (and I have to admit a little disappointing at first) but I am learning underneath a kind and wonderful teacher named Pamela and I truly believe I'm growing and learning, not only how to be a more effective teacher, but also how to constantly have a servant's heart in every situation God puts me in. And although it's taken me a bit to adjust, I know that God has planned in Costa Rica is much better than I could have ever imagined and I am so excited to see what that is for the next couple weeks!!

"Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage. Instead He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as man in His external form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death."
Philippians 2:5-8
