This past month I have been working alone or just with Dany for the most part. So when I finally have the chance to visit with a teamate I want to tell them all about the events of my day. They have come to know the phrase, "I have ANOTHER story for you!" very well! They also know to not expect anything close to normal. For some odd reason the strangest things happen to me. I don't want to leave you out on these events, so here are the mini and summarized versions of a few of my "I can't believe that just happened!!" moments.
-A stray cat and Iguana got in a fight just 2 feet away from me. The conclusion was the cat running away with the still alive Iguana's head in it's mouth. Only in Panama!!!
-When I came here my bed (which is a top bunk) was missing two bars. much to my surprise, another bar broke while I was lieing down. This caused me to be stuck, from my ribs to mid thighs, in my bed. luckily noone ws there to see the hilarious sight.
-In my attempt to clean the shed, a sledgehammer fell onto my head. Thankfully I packed plenty of advil!
-Someone left a piece of gum on the picnic table seat….. Guess who sat in it accidently? Me of course!
-While in the jungle some of us got these tattoos that last about 10 days. The women use this black paint type
stuff but it takes 24 hours to sink in. While I was sleeping mine spread. I awoke with black spots all over my arms, and completely black palms.
-I was holding a couple of boards so a guy could nail them together. I quickly learned he is a wild man with a hammer when he hit my thumb. I was able to stop the bleeding pretty quickly, but the blood blister the size of Texas stuck around for awhile. I made sure I did all the hammering after that.
So needless to say I have been able to keep the team laughing. However I have also been able to bring some incredible God stories to my teamates. These mean so much more to me than any of the funny moments I have. So To summarize those too…
-We accidnetly ddin't buy quite enough wood for all our projects. After a few days prayng we discovered God had multiplied our wood. WOAH!
-God truly talked with me. And he had some awesome things to say!!
-My bucket of paint lasted much longer than it should have! More multiplication!
-A DTS student and I spent 1 hour trying to put together a plastic play set n the blazing hot sun. After ranting to Dany about it he says, "Duuh Guuurrl, you have to ask God first. You don't think GOD knows how to put together a silly playplace??" We returned to our task, prayed, and put it together in 5 mintues. Thanks God!
-God answered a prayer with far above than expected!
I am thankful for all the God encunters and all the hilarious times I am having here. My team anxiously awaits the next time I say… "I have another story for you!"
