Once Upon a time in the land of Georgia, a group of hooligans and misfits met. Although awkward at first it was soon apparent the adventure they were about to embark on was going to be a crazy one. They were not disapointed.
I have spent the last 4 months in a very close community. These 8 people have become my brothers and sisters. Last night we were worshiping together. I had one arm wrapped around Liz, and the other around Mike. And I felt right at home with them at my side. My whole team has been by side through so much growth. Let me tell you about them.
Jamie: Leader numero uno. If I had a question on what in the world was going on cause I don't understnad spanish, she had my back! Jamie is always good for catching a "How I Met Your Mother" reference. And I could feel her care for me whenever she would come check on me while I was working after she got home from school.
Alaina: The second part to the Dynamic Duo of Leaders. As a leader we learned she can count to nine. (to make sure she had us all there.) And we heard her count to 9 again and again and again. You can count on finding Alaina singing 50% of the time, and she is always ready to give you a word straight from God. We never managed to play a really good prank on Andy, but we sure did try!
Liz: When I was craving country music, I RAN for Liz! She is always able to make me laugh till I cry, or inspire me to live an awesome life just by hearing all about her life! No one could possilby ever manage to quote Bridesmaids like this girl. Sometime I think I hung out with Liz, just hoping some of her awesomeness rubs off on me!
Moriah: This girl is the ultimate listener! She has heard all my strange and cool thoughts, and knows how my mind works. And she loved me anyway! Moriah has a natural way of encouragin everyone she meets. I am also so happy that she understands how amazing poutine and Tim Horton's are!
Andy: As we got to know Andy more we learned more about him, and what shocked me the most was his secret love for hilarious dance moves! He is a passionate Man of God. And he always had my back when I had to fix something and just didn't know how.
Madison: I don't believe complainging really helps things, but sometimes you just need to rant. Luckily Madison felt the same way as me, and we quickly became ranting partners! She was an amazing cook, and had a wonderful attitude. I don't who I will procrastinate at packing with now that we are going to be apart. I am so excited for this girl to get married!
Mike: I am so thankful there was another non-American here on the team with me. We could be confused by their "different language" together. It is still amazing to me the way Mike can pump out a mini-sermon on the spot. I will miss singing off key a cappella worship songs with this guy!
Kaitlyn: We came to realize that we are in fact the "un-cool" ones of the team. And we are proud to be so! I could count on Kaitlyn for a cute, sappy, and cheesy boy talk whenever I wanted! I also will miss the way we secretly snack in the kitchen when people think we are doing dishes!
I went on this trip expecting to change and affect people. I didn't expect the people around me to change me more than I could ever change them! So that is why there are two quotes this time at the end. Both of them are just too perfect.
I can't believe this is the end. I will miss my family SOOO much, but I know they are all moving on to incredible thigns were they will joyfully serve God!
