Our new sister Sara

First off, I apologize for all of my spelling mistakes in last weeks blog–turns out the copy & paste button doesn't work through our blog website so I had type it before our wifi shut off  ðŸ™‚            At first I wasn't sure what to blog on. This week has been full of incredible experiences from door to door evangelism to classroom prayers with 2nd graders. Our lives are constantly being shaped and made by God which gives me many stories to write to you guys about. I could write to you the miracle...

Flexibility and Teamwork

Let me tell you- as a team leader, this team makes my heart happy. I feel like a proud parent watching the siblings get along, love, serve and encourage one another. Whenever we have 'down-time' and are hanging around the house, we kind of have to be 'on call'. We have to be ready for whenver one of the contacts has something for us to do. Last Wednesday we were all enjoying a relaxing morning when our contact tells us we will be performing the Everything Skit at a church service that afternoon. Want to know the catch? We hadn't even began learning the Everything Skit....

please DON’T open the floodgates!

Life here in EL Salvador is beautiful and so much fun! We are living in a nice house and sleeping on beds and we get three awesome meals a day and we having running water AND indoor showers. So by missionary standards we are living pretty posh. Maybe a little too posh. So when our contact told us that the water had unexpectedly bee turned off I couldn't help but smile. "Yes, " I though " a chance to rough it a little bit will be perfect!" I though we could all stand to get some dirt under our nails and be pushed outside of our comfort zones a little bit. No sooner...

Holding Hands

In our short time here in El Salvador, my amazing team and I have already been on countless and unforgettable adventures. I want to write about a seemingly insignificant experience with a young girl, that completely warmed my soul, named Lupe. We went to a church to spend time with kids sponsered by Compassion. The team disperesed to their respective positions, the boys playing futbol and the girls running around with the little ones. I approached a young girl that looked about my sister's age. She immediately brushed me off and walked away. Being an almost teenage girl, I didn´t...

“Si…..?”

I LOVE kids! So when I saw kids at the village we went to visit, the whole day got a little better. High fiving them and watching them play soccer brought me so much joy. I left their dirt soccer field to visit with the people congregating at Carlos´s house. It didn´t take long before I saw the cutest baby boy. My love for kids took off again and his mother passed little Eric off to me. In my limited Spanish I attempted to to strike  up a conversation the three women around me. I could tell they were asking me questions, but I didn´t totally understand what they...

You Make Beautiful Things

One week here and I am alreday  in love with the people here. Sometimes I forget how big this world we live in is, we get so caught up in our own live. But there are some incredible people here and they are all so welcoming and willing to let us into their homes and lives. Yesterday we went and visited some families of the students in the youth group of the church who didn´t make it to the service on Saturday. One girl we visited had just lost her mother about a month ago and so we were able to go and talk and pray for her and her father. They were so happy to see us and even...
