It´s true, God blessed every single person on earth with perfect gifts for us to use for His glory. And let me tell you, I am living with an extremely talented bunch! Just to list a few of MANY:
Mike´s sincerity and ability to share the Word; Moriah and Jamie´s pursuit of God´s will with the utmost integrity; Liz, Laura, and Madison´s bright spirits and ability to be friends with just about any one; and Alaina and Andy´s observation allows for amazing encouragment. It is so fun to see all of these gifts at work everyday!
I have a tendency to doubt God´s gifts for me. This Monday I did not have that option. We started the morning off with a team favorite; playing with the Compassion kids. This Monday was a little different for me, I had offered to tell the story of David and Goliath (Did I mention in Spanish?) I was quite nervous but teaching and working with kids is my comfort zone so it went well. Phew! The real test though was yet to come. That evening we paired up and went to various small groups within the community. Moriah and I went with local Juan Carlos and boy, was he ready to challenge us and I am so glad that he did. The small group sermon was very good and then Juan Carlos said he needed one of us to share our testimony in spanish. Sharing my testimony is nervewracking enough but in spanish?! I can´t do that! But God said ´just try, it´s going to be okay´. So I did and it was wonderful!
God has given me this gift of communication on this trip and I am so grateful for it. I am also so grateful that even though I have my doubts, He has plans for my gifts. When we use the gifts God gave us for His purpose, it is an amazing feeling!
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17
