The God of 2nd Chances

Our God is a God of 2nd chances. And 3rd. And 4th. And 5th. And well numerous chances. Just read through the Old Testament. Time after time God gives warnings. God teaches lessons. And God always leaves a remnant. He does this because of His immense love for us. And it’s not really anything we did, can do, or will do. But simply because of who He is and what we mean to Him.

As our time in Costa Rica came to a close and debrief approached, questions arose about debrief and if it was really necessary. I was personally looking forward to debrief for a bed, warm showers and relaxation time. But there is so much more to it than that.

The team sat down during these few days talking about and processing our two months in El Salvador and Costa Rica. What was good. What was bad. How did we grow. And then we sat down and talked about our desires for our last six weeks in Panama. And all I can say is good thing our God is a God of 2nd chances!

Though we have all grown so much these past two months, the growth is not over. Praise the Lord that there is still time left on this trip because God has so much more to teach us and mold us over these next few weeks. We have big dreams that we know God can fulfill. Nothing is impossible for Him.

We are asking for big things for the next six weeks and for our lives,
but we serve the God of the universe and no request is too big for Him.

I would like to share a few words/phrases from our discussion today. That way you too can join us in prayer as we seek to be the men and women of God that He has called us to be. We desire more of God and more of a Christ-like lifestyle. And we are not going to stop until we get that! We will do what it takes to be imitators and ambassadors of Christ. Like Romans 8 says, ‘We are more than conquerors!’
