Lunch in Nicaragua.
Supper in Costa Rica.
Arrive at our “new home” at 1:00 am.
21 hours. Lots of scenery. Too much sleep. Tons of time to imagine what Costa Rica would hold for us.
That was my Friday. It led me to this wonderful new place. We will be spending the next 3 weeks living at the Glory Christian school, which is also the ZOE church. The mountains surrounding us, cool evenings, space to throw a baseball, and many other things make me thankful to be here. However, there are some parts that will take getting used to…
We are now cooking for ourselves.
The shower is absolutely freezing cold!
We have a real schedule for each day.
And the finale… I will be spending my days as an assistant teacher for grade 1 and 2.
I know that my teachers and friends from Hartney School are probably laughing right now. I don’t know how many times I have told people I will never be a teacher, and yet here I am. God has a sense of humour after all. So into the classroom I shall go (in my head I think of the classroom more like a lion’s den.) This is a very small school so grade 1 and 2 has only 9 kids. It includes quite a few boys that like to beat each other up, one sassy little chick, and two kids that never stop visiting all class. Although they secretly scare me, they have made me smile more than once when they say Ms. Laura, and then ramble on in Spanish. This month of ministry looks very different from last, but I think it holds many treasures for me.Â
