Learnin’ from a Youngin’

I was a little intimidated by my Passport team since I was the oldest. But it was definitely a humbling experience and these little youngins mean the world to me. As I am trying to process my time on the field with this amazing team, the thought crossed my mind, “What did I learn from each member?” Welp. Here it is. Laura: The youngest person on our team, with an age difference of 6 years between us. Woah. But this girl. I tell ya. Never met a Canadian like her. I not only learned about the difference between a jersey and a Holstein and what makes a good steak, but also about...

Misfits and hooligans

Once Upon a time in the land of Georgia, a group of hooligans and misfits met. Although awkward at first it was soon apparent the adventure they were about to embark on was going to be a crazy one. They were not disapointed. I have spent the last 4 months in a very close community. These 8 people have become my brothers and sisters. Last night we were worshiping together. I had one arm wrapped around Liz, and the other around Mike. And I felt right at home with them at my side. My whole team has been by side through so much growth. Let me tell you about them. Jamie: Leader numero uno. If I...

Alaina The Very Worst Blogger

I’m the worst. I openly admit it. My family knows it, my team definitely knows it, and anyone following our blog or the past 4 months of our trip knows that I, Alaina Reyes, am a very bad blogger. If you want to hear stories about our time here, check out Laura or Jamies blog or if you want to see some awesome pictures check out Kaitlyns instagram, but if you prefer complete silence and you love being ignored then follow me- I won’t let you down. It’s not like I don’t have anything to say either. I have so many stories from the past few months that would do...

The End Is In Sight

Wow- May 2nd, 2013… When did this happen? I can't believe it's been almost 4 months since we all left our homes, schools, families, jobs, friends, comforts and lifestyles in order to travel across Central America and serve the Lord. It's been a process. Some good times and some not so good times, but all the while growing and being challenged in our relationship with the God of the Universe. How cool is that? We get to serve God. THE ONE AND ONLY GOD. Who created The USA, Canada, England, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama. The God who loves all of these people so much...

I Hate It.

This past month has been a dousy for me. A lot has went down. A lot of tears have been shed. A lot of questions asked. And a lot of silence from the Lord. It's been hard. There I said it. I'm not perfect. I'm not always sunshine and rainbows. And I'm speaking honestly when I say sometimes being a missionary is not all tea and crumpets. The ministry we are working with is amazing. We have been partnered with a YWAM base in Panama City for the past 6 weeks and the staff and vision here are both wonderful. It's been an honor to work along side them and bless them in anyway...

I have another story for you!

This past month I have been working alone or just with Dany for the most part. So when I finally have the chance to visit with a teamate I want to tell them all about the events of my day. They have come to know the phrase, "I have ANOTHER story for you!" very well! They also know to not expect anything close to normal. For some odd reason the strangest things happen to me. I don't want to leave you out on these events, so here are the mini and summarized versions of a few of my "I can't believe that just happened!!" moments. -A stray cat and Iguana got in a...
